FREE WEBINAR:

HOW TO TURN YOUR HALF-FINISHED NOVEL INTO A COMPLETED MANUSCRIPT

Give me an hour and I'll save you years of wasted time on the road to publishing your novel.

SORRY YOU MISSED IT

The spring webinar is all done and finished. If you'd like to know next time I offer this course, be sure to sign up for my newsletter or follow me on social media!

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

I want this webinar to be super useful for you. In the first 5 minutes I will share the strategy I use with my clients to help them create a personalized game plan for how they will finish a draft.

From there we'll discuss the five things you need to do/understand to turn your half-finished novel into a completed manuscript.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not a gimmicky finish-your-novel-in-5-easy-easy steps kind of webinar. Writing takes work, and art cannot be put on a timeline, but I CAN shorten your path to a finished manuscript by sharing with you the most useful things I've learned along the way to becoming a traditionally published, award-winning author.

SNEAK PEEK: THE 5 THINGS YOU NEED TO DO/UNDERSTAND TO TURN YOUR HALF-FINISHED NOVEL INTO A COMPLETED MANUSCRIPT

  1. First, you'll need to truly prioritize your writing and deal with writer's block
  2. Then, understand what kind of structure you're using for your novel
  3. Fill that structure with compelling scenes that keep readers reading
  4. Train yourself to craft powerful prose that says precisely what you mean
  5. And never, ever, ever, give up.

I'll be taking a deep dive into all of these topics and more in our hour together and we'll end with a live Q&A so bring your questions and let's get you set up for success with your writing in 2024!

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR

I've been in your shoes...

When I first started writing I was working full time and had two little kids. I got up every morning at 5am to write before my work day began and it was exhausting. I wasted a lot of time on things that I didn't need to do, classes that didn't really help, and books that never got to the point, but you know what? Over the course of a decade, I gradually figured out a lot of things.

I finished the book. I found an agent. I wrote a second (far more complex) novel in a fraction of the time it took me to write the first. Then I wrote another. A short story I wrote was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. My first novel won the WILLA Award for Women Writing the West. I've presented at the Writer's Digest Novel Writing conference and my blog has been listed as one of their Best 101 Websites for Writers.

In short, everything is different now. I've trained myself to engage, at will, in a deep state of focus that helps me to be super creative and productive. Writing is still challenging, but in a fun way. I absolutely love what I do and I've made it my mission to help other writers land in the same place - in far less time.

MARJIE

April is a thoughtful, considerate, fun, gentle, and genuine ally in this challenging, meaningful quest. No "magic recipes," no demanded "steps for success," just really thoughtful help and guidance..

MONICA

Before working with April I felt like I had no direction with my current project. I was stuck and unmotivated. With [April's] encouragement I was able to improve my piece, and find confidence as a new writer.

NANCY

Her lessons are excellent. I have taken classes with Pulitzer Prize and Pushcart Prize winners (who are great writers) but their lessons had nothing over those of April’s more succinct and practical considerations.

SUSAN

I have gained so much from April's extensive knowledge and her gift for explaining the in's and out's of writing! Also, her free guide, "Write More Suffer Less" is priceless!

PAMALA

April was extremely supportive, one of the most encouraging people I’ve ever met. I can’t thank her enough for everything I gained.

ERIC

If you’re debating whether to take April’s class, you must. She will inspire you on a daily basis to get your but in the chair and do your writing.
